Why Hummless^TM?

Traditional hummus is made with garbanzo beans (also called chickpeas) and tahini, a sesame paste. It’s popular as a healthy and tasty snack with a wide variety of uses, whether as a sandwich spread or vegetable dip. However, Skip, the founder of Skip’s Dip, is allergic to garbanzo beans and therefore decided to make his own version. Our “Hummless” is a bean dip inspired by the versatility of hummus and is made with large white lima beans (or “butterbeans”) instead of garbanzo beans and without tahini. The result is a creamy vegan dip with 40 calories per serving (about half the calories of hummus), loaded with Southwest flavors like cilantro, jalapeño, habañero, and red pepper.
